About us

 Christian Recovery Centers are non-profit faith based recovery centers growing throughout Georgia that believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ. We teach out of "The LIFE RECOVERY" Bible which is a biblical approach to the 12 step program.   We offer 6-12 month inpatient/outpatient recovery programs that are designed to build close relationships and help men progress in life and in spirit.  We had a vision to keep each center under 30 men to assure each have adequate time, energy and the love of Christ to transition from old ways of thinking to a hope and future of prosperity. (2 Corinthians 5:17)   Doug Brooks (Financial Director) brings experience in peer support as a recovery coach and is C.A.R.E.S. certified. Mr. Brooks also brings experience from Quinton's Place Detox Center.  Our Staff is continuing to grow rapidly and are chosen by their determination, spiritual growth and desire to put others needs above their own.  All have been called by GOD according to his purpose. Each have a genuine love for our Lord and fellow man.  Our goal is to help restore lives and families with the love of Christ. 

Our staff is comprised of certified counselors and peer support specialists, as well as employees undergoing training to become certified. Our senior staff has over 50 years of combined experience in the recovery field, and each member was specifically selected for their unique talents and abilities in working with individuals in a residential setting.

Ronald Byers, a counselor in training, is our program director. Mr. Byers brings with him 15 years of experience in intakes and admissions for recovery residences. He has previously overseen the operations and admissions of two of the largest recovery residences in Georgia. In addition to overseeing admissions and programming, Mr. Byers coordinates our family outreach programs and client activities programs. These programs include trips to conferences, local sporting events, concerts hosted at our facilities, and other community-based activities that provide our clients and their families opportunities that they would not otherwise enjoy.

Our CFO, Doug Brooks, is a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist. With his history of providing peer support, he uses his life experiences to provide our residents with support from someone who has undergone similar issues. He has experience in inpatient, outpatient, residential, and detox facilities. Mr. Brooks also brings with him well over a decade of experience in retail  upper management, providing him with a unique skillset to handle the combination of human resources and financial activity that fall under his umbrella. 

Our senior staff oversees the programming at all six of our facilities, and provides guidance and supervision to a multitude of employees and volunteers who work with our residents.

Our most recent addition to our staff is our chaplain, Gerald Suttkus. Mr. Suttkus retired from a career with the Georgia Department of Corrections and brings a unique insight and skillset to our staff. With a lifetime of experience in counseling men who are in unfamiliar situations, he has the composure and compassion necessary to guide and counsel men in the first phases of our program. He is available onsite 5 days a week and by phone 24/7 for our students. He leads bible study and prayer groups daily, guides new clients through the first steps of our Life Recovery curriculum, provides individual pastoral and grief counseling to the residents, and most importantly, prays with them as a group and individually on a daily basis.
